On the road!
On Tuesday 29 November we hit the road again for a tour of the South Island. Headed for TeAnau via the beautiful Southern Scenic Route.
The first part of the trip took us around the South Coast and over to TeAnau via Blackmount. I love this drive. It's a stunning coast, great beaches and going over Blackmount always meant we were nearly at Manapouri for a holiday when we were kids.
Marg and Geoff were kind enough to let us stay with them in Te Anau and we had a couple of meals with them - a chinese takeaway and a meal out at the Te Anau Club, along with Pam and Ken.
Te Anau - and many other places - are struggling to find staff which means some favourite places are closed, or open only after 4.00 pm. NZ not in holiday season yet but there are far fewer tourists/ travellers than I expected.
